An analytical expression is obtained for the transient response of a two-layer slab (consisting of a polymer substrate and a sensor layer), and numerical calculations are performed. Experimental data presented here are obtained by a discharge current heating method, which should correspond to the lower substrate temperature and not to that of the sensor. These responses are characterized approximately by an exponential curve with a single time constant, and it is confirmed that these time constants have nearly the same values even in raising and lowering the temperature of the sensor.
