Influence of the Ring-Substitution on the Second Harmonic Generation of Chalcone Derivatives

Several chalcone derivatives exhibiting second harmonic generation up to 5 times that of urea under IR-excitation have been synthesized by varying the substituents on both phenyl-rings.
