We have prepared ternary chalcogenides, BiMS3 with M=Nb and V, and grown their single crystals. BiVS3 did not show superconductivity, but exhibited metallic behavior in its electrical conduction in the temperature range of 1.6 K to 300 K. We found that BiVS3 had a charge density wave (CDW) transition around 160 K. The electrical conductivity of BiNbS3 was metallic in the same temperature range. The Hall coefficient, RH, of BiNbS3 was positive in the temperature range between 4.2 K and 300 K. The density of holes calculated from the measured value of RH, assuming an electrical conduction by holes only, was around 4×1021 cm-3.
