Deuterium in D2+-implanted magnetic garnet films was extracted by means of thermal desorption mass spectrometry and found to be a form of D2O at 360°C in vacuo. The overall activation energy for extraction was measured as 1.62 eV for D2O and 1.04 eV for DHO. The effect of the SiO2 overlayer was also discussed.
