Noncollinear chirp-compensated second-harmonic generation with
subpicosecond laser pulses is discussed with regard to an optical
system that includes two dispersive elements and a nonlinear optical
crystal. Through the optimization of two dispersive elements, phase
and group-velocity matches as well as chirp compensation can be
satisfied simultaneously. Numerical results show that temporal
compression in second-harmonic pulse is achievable under the
condition that the first-order phase difference is completely
compensated.
