A radiation method is described which uses a pseudo-inverse filtering in DFT domain. A short ultrasonic pulse.such as a one cycle sinusoidal wave can be radiated using an ordinary PZT transducer. Experiments are carried out in both the transmission system and the pulse echo system. A clear direct pulse of 2 MHz without ringing is received by this method. Also obtained are one cycle sinusoidal echo pulses of a plate. The frequency dependent attenuation is compensated in the media. The experimental results confirm the validity of this method, making it seem applicable to ultrasonic diagnosis.
